Community theatre is a miracle.
Somewhere in the midst of having careers and families and what's for dinner and a list of priorities and obligations as long as Highway 11, we are SO lucky to have this crazy thing called theatre.
Theatre holds in its hand a spark that is alive if we're alive. A spark that knows it is still important to play, and to create, to gather together to feel and to think and rethink about who we are and why we're here on this wee planet.
We do it through the telling of stories, through being entertained and challenged by those stories. Lots of it is good. Some of it drives us crazy in its imperfection. And, when we're fortunate, we witness perfect aha! moments that send us out of the theatre changed by the experience. Welcome to the wonder. We're happy to have you with us.

Community theatre is what the Gateway Theatre Guild is all about. For 60 years, groups of dedicated volunteers have worked hard to bring quality and affordable live theatre to North Bay audiences. Why do we do it? The love of the stage, the need to perform, the feeling of community, and the friendships developed with people of like interests, are but some of the reasons we do what we do.
