tony and Tina’s wedding a resounding success!

Our second annual gala fundraiser did not disappoint! There was love, laughter, drama, fights, broken hearts, old flames, and amazing guests – not to mention the fabulous 80’s fashion! Live music kept the festivities humming and provided just the right tunes for the $1 dance with the bride and groom. We want to give a huge shout out to Kayla Valender for producing the evening and Stephanie Kast for directing the show, as well as to the our HUGE cast of characters!! We appreciate your time, energy, and enthusiasm! We also want to acknowledge the support of our Honeymoon sponsors – BDO Canada LLP, Canadore College, and Oxford Learning Centre as well as those who donated items for our silent auction:

East Coaster Studios
Stix and Stones
The Capitol Centre
Constellation Theatre
YIP Fitness
Osprey Links Golf Course
The North Bay Battalion
Hannah Kast

This is what community is about! The funds raised help the Guild to continue to offer high quality performances, mentorship and training opportunities, workshops, and a space for those with a passion and interest in theatre to create!

our final show of the season is fast Approaching!

Trying by Joanna McClelland Glass directed by Johanna McPherson and starring Rick Blair and Lizzi Terry is our final show of the 2025-2026 season. Our trivia contest just wound up and Lori Woodward is the grand prize winner of 4 tickets to the show and dinner for 4 at Cecil’s. Congratulations, Lori and THANK YOU to everyone who played along.

The play takes the audience on a unique journey as the characters navigate differences of age, class, and background to try and learn to understand and accept each other. Beautifully written and based on the playwright’s own experience, it is not a show you will want to miss. Trying runs June 3rd to 7th at Ecole Publique Secondaire Odyssee with our opening night performance again offering pay-what-you-can prices. Tickets can be purchased by following this link https://www.zeffy.com/en-CA/ticketing/gtg-presents-trying-by Hurry and get your tickets now before they’re gone!

What was the guild doing forty Years Ago?

In February 1986, GTG presented a production of “The Subject Was Roses” by Frank D. Gilroy. It was directed by Shawn Tillander and starred none other than Art Southcott and Marty Southcott (the parents of Shane Southcott who is co-directing “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown with Allan MacAskill) along with Dan Constable. It was staged at West Ferris Secondary School! Interested in more Guild history? Check out our digital archives at https://vitacollections.ca/gatewaytheatreguild/search.
